The Ateneo Theatre (formerly the Clayton Movie House) is our venue!
Panamá: The Musical opens February 1, 2018, at the Ateneo Theatre (located across from the Miraflores Locks Visitor Centre).

The Athenaeum Theatre
Known to locals as "The Ateneo," the theatre is located in the City of Knowledge and was formerly the Canal Zone's Clayton Movie House building.
The City of Knowledge Foundation offers the public the Athenaeum. A theatre space for presenting films, performing arts, conferences and other activities with more than 700 seats and state-of-the-art audiovisual technology.
This beautiful cultural infrastructure operates in the former Clayton movie house building built in 1935 and recently renovated by the City of Knowledge Foundation. It is considered an example of "Spanish Colonial Revival" architecture, characteristic of the Bella Vista neighbourhood.
Cultural Platform
Today, the Ateneo theatre is one of the venues used by IFF Panamá (Panama's International Film Festival – co-founded by Panamá: The Musical's Executive Producer, Rob Brown), and the Panama Jazz Festival.
The City of Knowledge Foundation has placed a strategy in motion for a cultural offering that includes a rich and varied collection of artistic activities on Campus as well as projects designed to highlight the historic heritage of this site.
History
The Clayton Movie House was built in the Canal Zone by the United States Army in 1935. It was designed by Architects Wright and Schay, who also created several of the most outstanding buildings in the Bellavista neighborhood, such as the Riviera, Sousa and Hispania buildings (all still standing).
